It’s a tad boring, isn’t it? Libraries. Words galore; sentences and syllables condescending to any school kid found in near proximity of the establishment. And, yeah, sure, Orion had grown out of the school phase — textbooks still haunt his mind, he’d claim — but, God knows he’s never properly grown out of the ‘oh-my-god-this-place-is-bull’ phase.
It was too damn apparent as he sat there, flicking a book wihout a damn. He didn’t really know why, or how, he ended up in this place. Sure, he’d probably end up laughing and joking: saying he was pissed drunk, going in there to mess stuff up...
But, it really would not be true. He would be too much of a coward to touch alcohol, let alone leave his house, if he did.
So, he wanted a valuable excuse to be there. In all honesty, he was too much of a wuss to say he was just there for the sake of ... well .. being there.
He could say he was moaping. Again.
He’d consider it too often an excuse. It would be all, ‘ oh !! who broke your heart this time ?? ‘ and he simply wouldn’t be able to answer; unless it was something geeky and nerdy, like ‘ oh !! This author killed this character — I’m so crushed ! ‘.
That’d be pathetic.
He could socialise ! Like a normal human being ! Not one of those edgy, ‘ NORMAL PEOPLE SCARE ME ‘ t-shirt wearing teens, like he was, around a year back. No ! He’d actually talk to someone. Sure, he’d get hopelessly attached, to the point of becoming actually heartbroken and sad, if this person was to even leave him on read, but what was the worst that could happen ?!
And, like the absolute loser he is, he turned to whatever poor, likely distracted person, who was next to him, and said — loud, while sporting the cheesiest smile:
" Well, it’s a bit quiet in here, huh ? “
